A crisp is made with an oat-based topping that gives this dessert a wonderful texture. Almost like a crumbly granola topping.
Ingredients
- Peaches: The main ingredient in this recipe. I used fresh peaches but you can also use frozen or canned.
- Maple Syrup: I drizzled this on top of the peaches. This ingredient is optional or you can mix it into the peaches in a large bowl first.
- Cinnamon: Adds a delicious flavor to the peaches.
- Oats: Be sure they are gluten-free for this dessert.
- Coconut Sugar: This adds sweetness to the topping.
- Cinnamon: Adds delicious flavor to the topping.
- Ginger: Just a little for flavor.
- Nutmeg: Adds a delicious warm flavor.
- Butter: This adds consistency to the topping and then makes the topping more crispy.
How to make a gluten-free peach crisp
First, you slice the peaches and then layer them in your 9×13 baking dish. Next, drizzle the peaches with maple syrup and then lightly sprinkle them with cinnamon.
In the second step, you will mix the oats, coconut sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and butter in a mixing bowl.
After mixing the topping ingredients, spread over the peaches in the baking dish.
