Day 1: Let There Be Light
“And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.” Genesis 1:3
What does it take to be able to say, “My life is beautiful”?
I believe it starts with gratitude.
It starts with being thankful for what you see- and learning to see God in everything and everywhere. It means looking for the good and focusing on it.
In the very beginning, God spoke light into darkness. ” Let there be light.” And there was light. Then God saw the light, and He saw that it was good.
What if we began to look at our own lives that way?
What if, instead of focusing on everything wrong, missing, or still unfinished, we began looking for the goodness God has already placed in our lives?
This doesn’t mean pretending that darkness doesn’t exist.
It means knowing that darkness is never too dark for God to bring light.
He can make all things new.
He can take what we see as broken, painful, or dark and bring something beautiful from it.
Sometimes the beauty isn’t in the circumstance itself.
Sometimes the beauty is in what God does through it.
Being able to see your life as beautiful begins with seeing the beauty God has already given you.
And then there is another kind of beauty- the beauty we cannot see yet.
The things God is still doing
The prayers that haven’t been answered. The dreams that haven’t come yet. The restoration and healing that haven’t happened yet.
We can walk by faith, not by sight, trusting that God is still writing our story.
We don’t have to see it all to believe He is working.
Faith allows us to see beauty before we can see the finished picture.
And I believe the restoration of a beautiful life begins in our minds.
When our minds are filled with Christ, gratitude begins to change the way we see everything.
We begin to notice the little things.
Answered prayers.
Ordinary moments.
People God has placed around us.
Beauty in our homes.
Strength in our bodies.
Lessons in our struggles.
The hope in our future.
And we begin to realize: There is already so much beauty here.
So today, let’s begin by looking for it.
Today’s Challenge
Take a few minutes today and write down 10 things you are grateful for.
Don’t overthink it. Notice what is around you. Look at your life. Look for the good.
And then ask God:
“Lord, help me to see my life through your eyes. Show me the beauty You have already placed here, and help me to trust You with the Beauty that is still to come.”
This is where our 30-day journey begins.
Not with changing everything.
Not with a perfect life.
But with learning to see the beauty in the life God has given us-and trusting Him to restore what has been lost.
Let there be light.
And let us learn to see the beautiful life that is already beginning.
So, today. I’m choosing to look for the light. I’m choosing gratitude. I am choosing to notice the beauty God has already placed in my life. And to trust Him with the beauty I cannot see yet. And I am inviting you to do the same.
For the next 30 days, let’s slow down, look a little closer, and allow God to restore His beauty in our hearts, our homes, our health, and our relationships.
We don’t have to have it all figured out.
We just have to be willing to begin.
Let there be light.
And let’s discover the beautiful life God is creating, one day at a time.
Blessings to you!
